T’ai Chi Ch'uan is an internal Chinese martial art practiced for self-defense and health benefits. It is a slow, gentle moving meditation exercise that over time allows us to put down our myriad defenses and experience the soft quality of the true self.​
We practice Professor Cheng Man-ch'ing's "simplified', 37 posture, Yang-style form. The 3 pillars of our study are Solo Form, Sensing Hands and Sword.
Mark Moriarty opened Long River Tai Chi Cleveland for classes in the fall of 2024. It is a branch of Wolfe Lowenthal's school, The Long River Tai Chi Circle, where Moriarty studied for 23 years. Wolfe was a student of Professor Cheng Man-ch'ing and is the author of three classic works on Tai Chi Ch’uan.
